Hyundai Genesis G90: Built for a Rock star

The Genesis G90 is something of a marvel.  It is a low lung sedan with a long, dignified hood, narrow greenhouse and sloping, fastback silhouette.

This will be a successor to the Equus which will be phased out.  Hyundai has declared the Genesis as “athletic elegance.” The large grille is crowned by Genesis’ spread-wing emblem and flanked by what Hyundai called “sophisticated” headlamps that aim to communicate a futuristic aura. A clean-cut character line creases the entire side culminating in wraparound taillights.

“Genesis’ new large luxury sedan G90 will deliver a concept of ‘new luxury’ to our customers,” says Woong-Chul Yang, vice chairman of Hyundai Motor, in a statement. “G90 sits at the pinnacle of the Genesis brand.”  Hyundai says it will launch six new Genesis models by 2020, starting with the G90 next month in Korea.

The Genesis will be Hyundai’s separate luxury division within the company and if the G90 is any indication, I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.  It appears to have done its homework and feel the pulse of what the public wants and as more information about the complete line  as well as the G90 are unveiled, I am sure it will have us dying for more.  I can’t remember being this excited and anticipating what a car company has in store.  I just hope they don’t keep us waiting long.
